In 1991, Barry Barr was out on his fishing boat off the wet and windy Alaskan coast when a gust of wind whisked his hat into the sea. Inspired, he created a better hat that would never fall off. Nearly 30 years later, the hat is still hand-cut and hand-sewn in Seattle by the same family, ensuring its exceptional longevity.
The hat is made with the utmost care and attention to detail, using premium materials. It features a beefy nylon tubular webbing with a 4,000lb breaking point, a KAVU d-ring adjustment, and five 43-stitch bar tacks. The heat-laminated underbill and a four-panel design are secured with 1" grosgrain-covered internal seams, ensuring it will last many years.
This year, the hat has been upgraded with 100% certified organic cotton. This choice is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts who care about the environment. Organic cotton is both durable and soft, performing well in all conditions.
The ALPHA Easy fit is available in S, M, and L with head circumferences of S (22.5”-24”), M (23.5”-25”), and L (24.5”-26”). The hat has a low-profile, 3.5" crown height and a slightly curved bill and black underbill, providing a classic look suitable for all occasions. The patterned nylon tubular webbing and KAVU adjustment make it easy to find the perfect fit for any head size.
Designed for ruggedness and reliability, the hat is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. Its 4-panel design, 1" grosgrain-covered internal seams, and heat-laminated underbill provide excellent protection against wear and tear. With beefy nylon tubular webbing with a 4,000lb breaking point and five 43-stitch bar tacks, the hat stays securely in place, even in harsh conditions.
